Yoga Therapist

Sierra breathes life into the ancient teachings of yoga with enthusiasm and compassion. Her students often report their energy transformed, their bodies invigorated, and their hearts joyful from their practice with her. Sierra has been practicing yoga for over 25 years and instructing for over two decades, completing a Yoga Therapy Teacher certification in 2016. From basic back care to stress reduction, she will customize the lessons to manage and alleviate pain and suffering while building a healthy lifestyle.

For those working with an injury or managing a health condition, therapeutic, personalized yoga can help you reduce your symptoms and enhance your quality of life. Yoga therapy focuses on how to make yoga safe and available to all bodies, of varying shape, physical condition, and mobility/flexibility. She works with a wide range of populations, including baby-boomers, cancer survivors, those with disabilities, and those dealing with chronic pain or trauma.

When appropriate, her teachings also incorporate Vipassana meditation, where moment-to-moment mindfulness is developed. This awareness leads us to accept more fully the pleasure and pain, fear and joy, sadness and happiness that life inevitably brings. As insight deepens, we develop greater equanimity and peace in the face of change, and wisdom and compassion increasingly become the guiding principles of our lives.

Thai Massage Therapist

As a Thai Massage Therapist Sierra uses a combination of massage plus assisted stretching, resulting in a comprehensive full-body treatment that relieves pain and muscular tension, improves circulation and range of motion, reduces stress and boosts the immune system, while balancing the body energetically through heart-centered energy work. Thai massage is performed clothed without the use of oils and happens on the floor on a firm mattress.

Self-Massage Instructor

After a life-changing accident that left her unable to walk for 4 months Sierra learned about the healing power of self myo-fascial release work (using balls and rollers to release pain and tightness in the body). When Sierra recovered beyond all doctors expectations and exceeded her former athletic abilities she was inspired to become a self-massage teacher. This work compliments other muscular- skeletal and respiratory rehabilitation therapies and enhances athletic performance.
